Hi I looking at getting a sonos surround set up; Play bar, 2 sonos 1's and a sub woofer. I also need to buy a TV. I have been reading on various threads problems with DTS and moves not being in full surround sound. I am not fully aware of what the problem is, how it effects different users etc.

It's unlikely you have full-range speakers, these are capable of producing reasonable base response and are not satellite speakers. I will most likely be watching most films through Netflix or a dvd in the XBOX. Is this DTS problem universal to all movies, or is it only certain formats. I really am no expert so if someone can explain these issues simply and what the solutions are I would be really grateful. The Playbar will accept stereo and DD5.1. If it's stereo, the playbar will use some algorithm to try and make a 5.1 surround signal from it but it's not very good. However, if it receives a proper DD5.1 signal it does sound rather good. If it receives a DTS signal, there is the deafening sound of silence.
